Oh. And most of us are already doing them, at least sometimes.

Time then to reveal those secrets (drum roll please)…

  1. Let the light in! – shift your brain waves to a higher frequency by opening the curtains, especially on waking.

Natural light also helps to release happy-neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin.

  1. Listen to your favourite up-lifting music – whenever you can during your day.

Not only do we receive a dose of our friend dopamine (which influences motivation and pleasure), scans show we stimulate many areas of our brains.

 

 

  1. Avoid ‘leaning on’ coffee – especially on the days you feel more naturally energized.

 And on the days you feel you need one – reach for an option that can help enhance your nervous system, like a green tea or matcha-nut-milk-latte.

  1. Your BONUS #4! – take a cold shower.

As I promised at the start – it’s low-cost, do-able (if perhaps a little unpleasant) and fun when it’s over!
