Recently I was speaking with a beautiful friend April who, after 26 years in her career, is enjoying well-deserved financial and lifestyle freedom. She can spend what she wants and do what she likes when it suits her.  And she asked me an interesting question; which she finds is often the trigger for her to take her next steps in her own life-adventure.

I was struck all-over-again by her question because most of us are stuck in being ‘comfortable’ with being uncomfortable.

And here’s her question – if you had all the time and the money and the circumstances allowed – what would you be doing?

I love this question because it always has me stop and ponder.

I first asked myself this 20 or so years ago, when I was feeling like a hamster running on a wheel.   I realised I actually wanted financial and lifestyle freedom – and I wanted to be able to help others experience this too.

Asking this question can be a kick in the pants for some of us, because firstly it can be a prompt to live our lives fully right now – plus it can be a push to make a change.

So now it’s your turn…

If you had all the money and time you needed, and the circumstances allowed, what would you be doing? 1

I’m curious – what would your answer be – right now?

As always – I look forward to diving deeper with you on this week’s #AliveWithFi

With sunshine ?

In an address to college graduates, Paul Brandeis Raushenbush reflects that “living life well requires a heart that remains open to the call of the Spirit to our unique vocation. It requires occasional reassessment of our interests and skills, and taking risks as we embark on new directions that our life may take.” In the same way, genuinely asking ourselves, ‘what would I do – if I could?’, and then seriously weighing the answer can open the door for living consciously, intentionally, and meaningfully.
