What’s yours?

This is an incisive question because it’s basically the driver for pretty much everything in our lives.

When I ponder what it is that makes me tick, I realise I wasn’t aware of the answer until 2003 when I was asked this same question.

It dawned on me that mine is to be giving beyond my own needs.

It’s such a bonus to get clear about what drives us because when we tap into it, it can become our superpower in terms of our motivation and fulfillment. 1

So just how can we figure this out for ourselves? It can help to ask someone we trust, and who knows us well, what they see as our main motivator. It could be an activity we do that we seem to lose ourselves in…we’re in the flow, or our genius zone.

Hearing their reflections back can help us put into words what can feel like it’s challenging to put our finger on ourselves.

Do you know yours? I’d love to hear what it is!

Until we go deeper on this week’s #AliveWithFi, keep sharing your sunshine 😉

1Identifying our raison d’être is a potential powerhouse.

“when my motivations are being met, I love every minute of my work. When they’re not, I get itchy feet or I become miserable. Now I understand what to look for.”

So, when we know what motivates us, then we can tap into our superpower and create meaning in our lives.
