So far this year we’ve talked a lot about getting clear on our goals and the best ways to help ourselves be productive.

We also know that setting a clear date and a plan are core parts of this process, plus regularly reviewing our progress and assessing our next steps.

However, something that’s often missed is the importance of the feel of it

Namely – what will it feel like to be standing in the place of achieving that particular goal we’ve set?

Top tip – Imagine you’re watching yourself in a movie.

Envision it and feel it.

For myself, I’ve decided one of my goals is to get current again in my flying rating for my Private Pilot’s License. So, I’m practicing sensing the feel of it already being done.

Whilst I’m sitting in that six-seater, single propeller plane, I imagine how it feels to go through my pre-flight checks before I take-off…

…how it feels to look down below and see the ground moving below me, and look ahead to see the clouds whizzing by… 1

When we focus on the feel of achieving our goal, it turns up our energy and brings the experience closer to our current reality

I’m curious to hear if this is a concept you’ve ever come across, and if you have, what you’ve found? And you probably already know that I love hearing from you with your questions before our #AliveWithFi – in fact I’ll see you on this week’s! ☺

1 When it comes to success, I’ve certainly found that “if you can see it and say it aloud, you’re more likely to make it happen.”
