Does bio-hacking work?1
In fact – what exactly is this currently-trendy topic all about?
As far as I can see, it seems to be about doing more of what many have been doing for millenia. It’s basically about letting our bodies do what they do best…
…and taking this to the next level, that may include harnessing technology.
Some are getting into augmenting – for example one guy is having some of his bone marrow injected into his joints as part of his mission to live to 180 yrs young. Apparently he spends a large chunk of his time in a hyperbaric chamber, which basically means that his system is needing to produce more red blood cells etc and it’s forcing his brain to work harder.
At the end of the day, it seems to me to be about figuring out what makes us tick, something I call our cellular blueprint. It’s a pretty simple concept, although not entirely attractive as it involves investing time and energy to find out what’s best for our own bodies.
After all – we’re intrinsically designed to flourish, and when necessary, to heal. ( The opposite of our bodies needing to rely on some kind of support.)
I had my personal wake-up call that led me to figure out some of my cellular blueprint, when I was diagnosed with heart disease at the age of 21 years young.
I chose to figure out what works best for me when it comes to eating (what, when and how much), likewise for hydration, exercise, time to rest, to name a few.
Next step, which for many of us never actually happens!) is to then honour that.
Easier said than done 🙂
I believe it’s a positive thing that biohacking is ‘in’ as we all have so much to gain from being our own best Health Detective with the basics for ourselves, and then actioning those each day.
