Asking myself this question helps me to keep myself on track.

You see, DTRT means Doing the Right Thing.

For me, this means asking myself am I following through with my values?
What I really like about this concept is that we often know what we need to be doing. We don’t necessarily need someone else telling us what the right thing is or what to do.  And when we ask ourselves ‘What does it look like for me to DTRT right now?’, and listen to the answer, we often know it. 1

For example, when it comes to being healthy, we know that it helps for us to move our bodies and make wise food choices.

So, the way that we think, the kind of relationships that we experience, the connection we have with our spiritual source, the careers we pursue; it’s our values that influence our choices that will fuel the outcome.

I find it handy to ask myself if I’m DTRT as a way to make sure I’m living congruently with my values…if I’m keeping it real!

The areas I most value freedom are health and finances. For many of us, these can be a source of stress (especially freedom with finances), although it doesn’t have to be this way.

I know this deep down, because I’ve gone from living as if I were a slave to money to it now serving me.

That’s the reason it’s time to give you the heads-up about a new program my husband Chris is putting together, called The Millionaire Academy. From his experience as a lawyer and businessman, he’ll be sharing the keys to creating that freedom that we all desire in our lives.

So, stay tuned!

In the meantime, catch you on this week’s #AliveWithFi – and you know I do love hearing from you.

Ciao for now ?

1When it comes to decision making, knowing what we value helps us trust our own judgement.  Even in moments when we have tough choices to make, “if we are clear on our core values, this is our north star or our compass. Even when we cannot clearly see the best path, if we use our core values to drive our decision making, we can feel good that no matter what the outcome is, we can look at ourselves in the mirror and feel like we did our best.” “Why Our Core Values are Our Greatest Assets” P.
