A big thanks to my wonderful friend Florence who got me ruminating on this valuable topic. The concept is that the results we see in our lives are based on our thinking and consequent actions.

I’m curious to know if this is something you’ve seen in your own life, and if so, what have you noticed?

An interesting example for us to apply this concept to is the COVID pandemic. The impact on everyone has, in one way or another, been enormous.

While governing bodies in our individual areas have put in place regulations around us, our personal response to what’s happening around us is unique.

For me, the pandemic strongly influenced whether my husband Chris and I would continue being location-independent, or stay in New Zealand for the moment. This has been a whopping change for us!

It’s been a great illustration for me – all over again – that how I will be, the feelings I’ll have, my responses – and even the quality of company I’ll be – come down to where I’m at on the inside first

It’s not that we don’t need other people, or outside information. Instead, my experience is that it’s the work we do on the inside that sets the stage for how we respond to anything that happens externally. 1

Do send in your thoughts and musings on this one before I see you on this week’s #AliveWithFi and we’ll dive deeper on this one.

Until then, keep sharing your sunshine;)

1”The reality is that the way we perceive other people has almost everything to do with how we perceive ourselves.” This is because we’re not able to change other people or our situation, although we do have control over our own inside environment.
