Have you ever found yourself juggling things as you go through your day, and getting a sense that steam is coming out of your ears as it all starts to feel too much – and asking yourself ‘have I lost it?’

And if so – have you ever been at a loss as to what to do with yourself to get over yourself + get on with it?

To answer that first question in a word – no, we haven’t lost it. We’re part of the human species – it comes with the territory.

And when it comes to getting over it (and ourselves), read on…

Let’s start with where it all begins: with our thoughts.

We know from the book and the film of The Secret that thoughts become things, namely that what we think about we bring about.

We’ve all seen the way our thoughts influence our minds. It’s worth bearing in mind that both our positive and negative thoughts have this potential. 1

A pattern I’ve noticed for me in the past is getting caught in a thought that’s not entirely positive and that tends to go in a downward spiral. Can you relate?

A couple of ways I’ve found to really help myself prevent this downward thinking-spiral is to be on-it with my water drinking, and pacing myself with my priority list (rather than succumbing to the lure of getting it all done at once).

And one of the things that makes the biggest difference when the chips are down and I can feel the see-saw balance is going away from my ideal, is that I invest 5mins to literally meditate on it.

I call it my mind-freeness time.

It’s time for me.

It’s space for me.

It shows me there IS plenty of time. There’s space.

And when I clear my mind and allow that sense of time freedom, what ends up happening is that I can find a way through whatever’s being challenging.

Have a go with this and I’d love to hear how you get on – PLUS any top tips you’ve found that work for you.

In the meantime, keep sharing your sunshine and I’ll see you this week’s #AliveWithFi  ☺

1Thoughts can literally become all sorts of things because “Our expressions and behaviors are quite literally self-fulfilling prophesies of our mindset”. So, by being conscious of our thoughts, we can dramatically influence what we manifest in our lives.
