Fi Jamieson-Folland highlights the 3 keys to healthful kids’ eating!

I can almost hear some of you saying ‘is there such a thing?’
I acknowledge this can certainly be a challenge…although it doesn’t have to be this way.

However, what I’ve found over the years is that it does take consistent patience, creativity and resilience on the part of the kids’ caregivers.

Here are the 3 keys many of my clients have found to be effective when it comes to supporting and nurturing their kids get the best nutrition possible –

1. Plan for regular meal times together; these are commonly dinner during the week, and can include other meals during weekends and holidays. Meals that the kids plan, that are shared and ones the kids maybe even make with you, are even better!

2. Show the kids how it’s done! We tend to follow or ‘copy’ what others are doing; quite literally, especially when these are people we respect. And these things we copy can be non-ideal choices too! It can often be the seemingly-smallest things that can make the difference; like opting for filtered drinking water rather than juice or coffee etc. Even if coffee may not be on the menu for your kids as yet – it still gets noticed as a ‘cool’ future choice to opt for.

3. Change it up! Keep things interesting; trial new meal and snack options. Variety really is the spice of life
